Plugins Added to the Website
Jun 17th, 2008 by admin
Tonight I added the WPhone plugin to the website. You’ll notice when you visit your login page a checkbox appears below that allows you to select the mobile device interface. I tested it out with my Blackberry and it seems to work great.
I also added the podPress plugin to the website and right now I’m in the process of testing it out to make sure it’s compatible with Wordpress MU. The attached audio file is one I mixed and created myself years ago. Can’t imagine too many people using AOL anymore.
One thing I did notice when using this podcast plugin was that if you attempt to modify the default options they aren’t saving even though it says so. That could be an issue with the plugin not being completely compatible with WPMU, but I’ll keep this plugin anyway. It’s really fun to use and I recommend trying it out. Here’s the quick overview of how to add a media file to your post:
- Using the attachment section, upload your video or music/podcast file.
- Copy the attachment link to the “Location” text box of the Podcasting section.
- Once you auto detect the size and duration, the only thing left to do is edit your title.
- Read the text underneith the tag info so you can see how to add the media player to your post at the location you want it.
Be on the lookout for other cool new plugins being added! ![]()

Hi,
I was also wondering if you could add another plugin or change to remove the website field from a new comment. Spam is getting in and leaving link in the name.
I know this may not stop the spam but at least they don’t even get a url back to their website. Fight spam tooth and nail.
Here is a website that said the change is easy(I hope):

Here’s some steps you could use to prevent that spam:
1) Enable the WP-reCAPTCHA plugin.
2) Click the link at the top of the page since you most likely don’t have the necessary API key. It’s free to get one. For me it was easiest to open this link in a new tab, so I can easily stay at my WP control panel.
3) Once you register and get your key place the public and private keys into the options configuration page for WP-reCAPTCHA then you’re all done.
*NOTE: If you want to see how it looks in action first, take a look at Torrey’s blog and click on the leave a comment link.
Hey,
I am having a bit of trouble.
1. Turned on the plugin
2. Got a Captcha key
3. When I try to register the key under my blog there is no option for the reCaptcha. There is a litte annoying box that says “reCAPTCHA is not active You must enter your reCAPTCHA API key for it to work”. So I click on it and I get the admin header but the rest of the page is blank. Exploring a little bit more it seems if the wp-recaptcha.php isn’t loading all the way or is maybe blank. Any ideas?
In your Dashboard click on Options, then reCAPTCHA. Page loads up good for me. Still problems?
Yeah still having problems. I took some screen shots to explain my problem.
Here is my options menu.

I don’t have a section for reCAPTCHA but I can click the little pop up message. When I click it this is what I get.

It’s just a blank page. So odd….
I haven’t been able to figure out what’s going on with your problem yet. Have you tried it out on your 10% Microsoft side yet?
When I pulled it up in Firefox, still worked for me.
Not sure what else it could be. If anyone else reads this and has used the reCAPTCHA leave a comment about how it worked for you.
Wow using IE was like picking up an old book. Had to blow the dust off. Tried it to no avail.
For now have deactivated the plugin so people can comment (and spammers too).
